First National Carers Strategy
As part of the National Social Partnership Agreement Towards 2016, the Government is committed to developing a National Carers Strategy in 2008 focusing on all informal and family Carers in the community.
The National Carers Strategy will be a landmark policy development.
The Strategy will set out the Government's vision for informal and family carers and establish a set of high level goals and actions in the following areas:
- Income Support
- Health care and Services
- Programme of training (during caring and post caring)
- Labour market issues
- Transport
- Housing
- Information Services
- Social Inclusion
- Research and Technology Development
