One of the most fundamental aspects of The Carers Association’s existence and ethos is in the area of promotion and awareness of the issues faced by family Carers on an ongoing basis.
As part of our promotional campaign, we hold the Carers of the Year Awards. Once a year we give family carers the acknowledgement they deserve and the opportunity for their family and friends to nominate them for the extraordinary levels of care they provide to a loved one. Nominate a Carer.
Carers Week has become an annual week long event for family carers nationwide. All our 16 resource centres hold a variety of events from fun filled days out, information days, stress management classes, massage therapy, social evenings and beauty therapy. This year Carers Week took place from 10th - 16th June 2013.
Our annual National Conference is held to highlight carer’s issues. The theme for our 2010 National Conference was "Under the Radar - a focus on Young Carers"which took place on 7th May 2010.
