Family Carers enjoy trip to Ardgillen Castle for Carers Week

On one of the sunniest day’s of the summer 20 family carers made their way to Ardgillen Castle Balbriggan. Sargent Vincent Connolly from the Blanchardstown Community Gardai provided us with the use of the Garda Community Bus & drove Carers from Blanchardstown and Artane there and back.

We had a very interesting tour from Anne who had great local knowledge. This was followed by very welcome morning coffee. Barbara Cole & a team from the Red Cross gave us all a hand massage sitting outside in the sun, glorious!!!! This outing to celebrate National Carers Week was funded by a grant from E.B.S.Building Society from their community support program.

North Dublin Family Carers enjoy a day out at the National Botanic Gardens

30 family carers from all over north Dublin came together for a trip to the National Botanic gardens in Glasnevin on Tuesday 8th June. The conducted tour gave great insight into all that happens in the walled fruit & vegetable garden & we saw lots of exotic plants & flowers in the large restored glass houses. It was very interesting & great to meet up with other family carers. We rounded the morning off with tea, coffee & delicious scones in the restaurant in the gardens. This outing for family carers was funded by a grant from The National Lottery.
